Successfully created it…but ran into some “issues” I didn’t anticipate. No matter…I overcame them.
The best “strainer” (for me) to strain the flax seed was a flour cloth.
WARNING:
Flax seed does have the potential to be toxic. It contains substances called “cyanogens” which can be converted to cyanide with additional chemicals and converts in the body into a chemical called, “thiocyanate”. In very high blood concentrations for long periods of time it can adversely affect the thyroid.

While I thank you for the insight, I can’t help but say the title was a little misleading. I was prepared to hear the warnings of this recipe to hyper or hypo thyroidism and that was not the case. Is there any harm?? Please advise. Thx

Flaxseed is …
Flaxseed is actually very healthy. I read that in the UNCOOKED form it is toxic, but as long as it’s cooked, it’s fine, even for pregnant women. That’s what i read. I’m no doctor or specialist, but i do like to read up on things especially when I’m interested and something like ‘toxic’ stops me in my tracks! Thanks girl!

lol I tried it …
lol I tried it tonight and it was more difficult to strain than I expected. I gotta use a cloth strainer next time. TY for that! The consistency I got reminds me so much of Kinky Curly Curling Custard.
you made a whole heap of gel lmao.
I gotta look for your next video about the flaking update. I tested some flax gel on a tiny portion of my hair which already has leave in conditioner and it flaked instantly.

Let me put it like this…I made this vid 4 months ago and still have it in my fridge and just used some today and it was perfectly fine. I don’t know how much longer it will last but placing it in the fridge does tend to extend the shelf life.

Oh my goodness. I am SO glad that your gel looked the same and had the same look of mucus” as mine! (phew!) I feel like I did it totally wrong, as the stuff is SO thick I can’t just pick a little piece up and run it through my hair. It kind of grosses me out to use it.

A LITTLE goes a …
A LITTLE goes a LONG way. You may have used too much of the product. Seriously. You don’t need much of the product. I gave a friend about an ounce to try, told her how little to use and she did her entire head TWICE with only 2oz.

I am a thyroid …
I am a thyroid cancer survior…and I used to use this all the time, after they cut out half of my thyroid, a goitor and a mass….I was given this list of foods I can never have again, and flax seed was one of them. when I asked why, they said it could be goiteragenic….which means not only toxic it could make the cancer come back. now i just use aloe gel, strait from a plant…or sugar water.
