Is there anything other than acai with just as much or more antioxidants but not as expensive?

Yes.
Blueberries have more antioxidants, so do black cherries. concord grapes.
Strawberries, red kidney beans.
The top 20 are named on the link.

Acai is an expensive scam, they have no magical properties, will not aid weight loss. Antioxidants are beneficial but none will aid weight loss.

    Foods you know by now.

Herbs, such as bilberry, turmeric (curcumin), grape seed or pine bark extracts, and ginkgo provide powerful antioxidant protection for the body. Some of the others are Alpha-lipoic acid, Bromelain, Catechin, Glucomannan, Green Tea, Rooibos, Lycopene, Pyruvate and Resveratrol.

The antioxidant effects of green tea are said to be greater than vitamin C. Green Tea (Camellia sinensis) has long been used in Chinese medicine as a treatment for headaches, general body ache, poor digestion, depression, and to increase life expectancy.
